Last week we celebrated up and coming design talent at the New Designers annual showcase held at the Business Design Centre in London.
We were delighted to sponsor a prize: “Creating the Remarkable”. Our Collabs’ judges, Ben, Annabelle and Jayne, were looking for designers who demonstrated remarkable ideas, creativity and attention to detail; and we’re very pleased to say, we found one!
Massive congratulations to Jesse James from Swansea College of Art UWTSD, our very worthy winner. His work – a printed book entitled My Mori – took inspiration from Mexico’s Day of the Dead. He created a book of ‘living eulogies’ hoping to transform British people’s negative perceptions of death into something much more positive and celebratory.
Jesse’s work was beautifully executed, (of course), but we also found the idea behind his concept intriguing and really appreciated how he had used creativity to tell a thought-provoking story.
His prize is a paid internship at The Collaborators and we can’t wait to welcome him to Collabs' HQ in the coming weeks!
